A few weeks ago I rode the Angry Doctor - 100km of awesome offroad fun down on the NSW south east coast.  About 70% of the 100km is single or double track that twists and turns through the terrain.  Basically six and a half hours of continuous skill development.
When I got back on the roadie [...]

Well, it’s been over a week since I last posted and today marks two missed Bike Porn Monday’s in a row.  Unfortunately I have been overtaken by life in the last week and things have just been too hectic.
I’m currently getting a new business up and running at work and we’re about a week off [...]

Bike Porn Monday #10

Ok, a little flat out at the moment, so this edition is both late and brief. Don’t you hate it when work gets in the way of your passions?
Wheels
I thought I’d delve into wheels a little this week as a focus, and with the recent launch of the new HED Jet Disc, a bit of [...]

Nerdy concept, but I like it…

A couple of clever boys from the USA, Brady Clark and Mykle Hansen have come up with a way of helping other road users realise how fast cyclists actually travel - a vest which displays on your back, in big numbers your speed.
More info at Mykle’s site: http://mykle.com/msl/?p=21
The main idea behind their concept is education [...]

MTB

Greg is doing the Angry Doctor this coming weekend and I’m starting to get a little concerned about his ability to complete the race without injuring himself.
Why?
Well, so far the bulk of his preparation seems to have been watching dvds of other people riding mtb trails.
Should make for an interesting Sunday… and an amusing Monday [...]

He’s crafty

I’m Greg’s wife, Amelia, and will be an infrequent contributor to Velociti sharing some insights into living with a cycling fanatic. Occasionally it’s bemusing (I just can’t get excited about cadence), sometimes it’s a bit of a yawn (gear ratios, need I say more?) but mostly it’s a lot of fun. It will be nice [...]

Stupid pedestrians… aaaarggghhh!!

If you’ve read recent posts, you’ll know that I’ve changed my daily commuting route to include a large portion of the trip being ridden on bike paths.  Most of these bike paths are either shared bike / pedestrian paths (with the bike portion and pedestrian portion clearly marked) or bike paths with a separate pedestrian [...]
