Bye Bye Berretto – Flash’s bike destroyed
For those who’ve read this blog over the past few months, you may recall a little writeup I did of meeting a few bike couriers in Martin Place – if not, you can read it here.
Anyhow, one of the couriers I chatted to was a guy called Flash. I bumped into Flash yesterday on my way back to the office and walking through Martin Place and noticed that he was riding a different bike. I stopped to say g’day and asked where the Berretto was. He told me it had been pole-axed by a taxi and had gone to bike heaven.
“Shit! Did you get hurt?” I asked.
“Nope – bike was chained up at Chifley Square and a taxi drive crashed into!”
It even made the nightly news:
